As officially announced by Hakuba Village, the Hakuba Oyukikei route will be closed to traffic from Monday, September 29th. Thank you very much to all the climbers who have used the route this year.

*To everyone planning to use Oyukikei this weekend
The Oyukidake glacier will remain open until Sunday, September 28th, before the road closure. However, cracks have already opened up, so caution is required. When walking, be sure to check the pink tape and red ochre signposts, wear crampons, and take care not to slip and fall.
The mornings and evenings are chilly, typical of autumn, so please prepare warm clothing. This weekend is a rare opportunity to enjoy the last large snowfields of the season. Please be sure to put safety first and enjoy the beautiful autumn mountains to the fullest.

*To those planning to climb Mt. Hakuba after September 29th
After the Oyukikei road closure, please use the Hakuba Yari Onsen Route or Tsugaike Route to enjoy a safe climb.
