A View and a Sense of Achievement
Reserved for Those Who Make It
Kiretto Hut sits at 2,470 meters above sea level, in a dramatic mountain saddle with steep drops on both sides. It lies about five hours from Goryu Sanso Lodge and 20 minutes north of the legendary Hachimine Kiretto—one of the Three Great Kirettos of the Japan Alps, famed for its thrilling and adventurous route.
Because of its remote and rugged location, the hut plays a vital role in supporting the safety of climbers. Even if you’re just passing through, feel free to stop by to check trail and weather conditions.
For overnight guests, please plan your hike to arrive by around 3:00 PM. The route may take longer than expected due to narrow sections and wet rocks. Your cooperation ensures a safe and memorable mountain experience.

Goryu-Tomi ~ Hachimine Kiretto ~ Otanbara Route
This thru-hiking course can let you challenge two of the 100 famous mountains and the Hachimine Kiretto, one of Three Kirettos in Japan,.
The Core Section of the Kiretto
The Hachimine Kiretto is one of the three major kirettos in the Northern Alps (the other two are the Kaerazu Kiretto and the Daikiretto).
The core section lies about 20 minutes from Kiretto Hut, which is located at the lowest saddle between Mt. Kashimayari and Mt. Goryu.
This section includes a short traverse along the valley bottom, where two ladders have been installed and a bridge supports your footing during the traverse.
During the peak season, the trail can become crowded with climbers, so please be considerate and yield to others to help prevent traffic congestion and accidents.
