Surrounded by the peaks of the Japan Alps, Tsugaike Nature Park is one of Japan’s most beautiful high-elevation wetlands, located at 1860 meters. Its alpine meadows bloom with a delightful variety of wildflowers throughout the seasons.


Tsugaike Hütte is conveniently located near the trailhead at the entrance to the park, making it an ideal base for climbing Mt. Hakuba via Mt. Norikura, Hakuba Oike, and Mt. Korenge.
You can reach the lodge by taking the Tsugaike Gondola and Ropeway.

Japanese-style Shared Room

The shared Japanese-style rooms are simple and warm, creating a unique space in a mountain hut that fosters interaction between climbers.

Shared Bunk Room

This room has several bunk beds. Close the curtains and you can relax in your own private space.

Capacity: 2-4 guests Area: 9.7㎡
A private room suitable for multiple people. It will make your stay at the mountain hut even more comfortable. Best for 3 to 4 people.

Fees

  • Student Discount: Receive a discount of ¥3,000 by presenting a valid student ID. 

    (Applies to postgraduate, undergraduate, vocational school, high School and junior high school students. Not available during: July 19–August 17, September 13–15, September 20–23, October 11–13, and during school hiking trips.)
  • An additional ¥3,000 fee will be charged for guests who stay without a prior reservation.
  • Private Room Fees:
    Private room fees are charged separately from the basic accommodation fee.
    Example of accommodation fee calculation (Private room. 1 night with 2 meals):
     4 people using a private room for 4:14,000×4 + 12,000 = 68,000円

    1 night with 2 meals: ¥14,000 (adult) / ¥9,000 (elementary school student)
    1 night with dinner: ¥12,500 (adult) / ¥7,500 (elementary school student)

Cancellation Policy

  • A cancellation fee will be charged according to the following conditions:
    • No-show: 100% of the accommodation fee
    • On the day of arrival: 30% of the accommodation fee
    • After 4:00PM on the day before arrival: 30% of the accommodation fee
    • Before 4:00PM on the day before arrival: No charage
  • The cancellation fee applies to both the basic accommodation fee and the private room fee. Student discounts do not apply to cancellation fees.
  • A cancellation fee will still be charged even in cases of bad weather or poor physical condition, but we strongly encourage you to prioritize your safety and avoid hiking under risky conditions.
  • If you are forced to change your accommodation to another hut within our group, the cancellation fee will be waived. However, a ¥2,000 change fee will be charged.
  • No cancellation fee will be charged in the following cases:
    • When a special warning or weather alert is issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency for the area on the day of your stay.
    • When road closures or other unavoidable circumstances make it physically impossible to reach the mountain hut.

Crampons

¥1,500

We offer lightweight 4-point crampons for rent at Sarukura Hut, Hakuba Sanso Lodge and Tsugaike Hutte. You can rent them directly at any of the huts without reservation. When you return the crampons to any of the huts, we will refund the deposit of 500 yen to you.

Body soap, shampoo, and hair dryers are provided. Available for guests: 15:00-20:00
The hot water contains natural minerals using a mineral activation device.
Ten kinds of ions, including calcium carbonate, potassium, and sodium, are constantly eluted from the activated stones into the water. The water is slightly alkaline, warms you up well, and is very good for your body. Please enjoy the smooth water quality.
Towels are available for purchase. Toothbrushes and other amenities are not provided, so please bring your own.

This is a hiking route where you can enjoy walking along the ridgeline. It is popular for its numerous photo spots, such as Hakuba Oike and Raichozaka.
In autumn, you have to watch the autumn leaves at Tsugaike Nature Park.
